One may indeed ask whether it is really necessary to repeatedly publish the same songs - but the BBC Sessions are not a Best of in the proper sense, but live (with or without an audience) rehearsed pieces from the I - IV era. These things are all better than what Plant / Page with (her similar from the setlist) 3x Live CD 'How the West Was Won' gave us, and it has given me back the joy of 'Stairway to Heaven'. Why? Zeppelin are a live band, a band of improvisation head to toe. And so there is never a dull moment when you hear the tenth version of about 'Dazed and Confused'. Very heavy blue is the first CD, recorded without an audience for radio shows, wonderful slow versions of "You Shook me 'or' Travelling Riverside Blues'. The second CD is a complete concert recording (with very discreet applause of a restrained audience ...) with the outstanding 'Since I've been lovin you' (always moving), the enriched with a blues medley 'Whole Lotta Love' and the extremely Hammond orgeligen 'Thank you' as highlights. An ingenious document the heyday a brilliant band.
