Customer Review

The 1980`er album "Another Ticket" Eric took on with a new, British personnel. He replaced his since `74 acting on his band (The" Ocean Boulevard "troupe) by renowned musicians such as Procol Harum-Orgler Gary Brooker or Country guitar virtuoso Albert Lee. Country-influences on this album also clearly recognizable, such as the cover-number "Black Roses" or autobiographical, self-critically-insightful and sad "Hold me Lord", the strongest song of the record. Other highlights set the Muddy Waters cover "Blow Wind Blow" with great blues guitar and song oriented and intense, meaty vocals. "Something Special" a soul-pop with amusing and sensitive text on EC`s wife Pattie is relaxed and nice to listen to.
Furthermore, the plate to be a little lame. The title track is too cheesy, the single "I can`t stand it" is somehow not one thing nor. Not rocking, bluest not, not bewgt. Ditto for "Rita Mae" and "Catch Me If You Can".
The sound production (remastered) is clear and differentiated, somewhat depressurized.
Overall, one of the weaker panels Clapton, still not bad buy.
