After a short intro (as always) follows the fast `Fly to the moon`, nothing new but a good deal.
This is followed by the very catchy 'Rock the Nation'.
After a quiet beginning Valley of Sin 'is `a highlight of the album. Played very soulful guitar of Axel and settled in the mid-tempo.
Ever: As already on the predecessor "Shadow Zone" (2002) and "Kings And Queens" (2004) playing most of the songs on "Mystica" mid-tempo. Basically contrast is also nothing to say, but sometimes I münsche me more fast pieces.
`Living a lie` is again extremely catchy, really well but of course nothing new.
`No chance to live` is a decent ballad with a very good performance of US singer Johnny Gioeli who also sings in the band Hardline.
The title song `Mystica` provides course with 8:26 minutes a highlight of the album. It sounds like a mix of Rainbow and Black Sabbath each to Dio-hours on.
An Instrumental there again and also goes by the title `Haunted Castle Serenade (Opus # 4 Agresso grazioso e)`. Here Axel conjures up in his Stratocaster.
Fast it is again with `Losing the game`. The track I find rather mediocre.
`The Curse of the damned` is the longest piece and a dignified end of the long-playing record with almost 10 minutes.
Overall, "Mystica" a really good album, but not among the best of Axel. I set it to the previous album "Kings And Queens" on the same level and there are 4 star and a buy recommendation. As I always use to say: Who ordered Axel Rudi Pell also gets delivered. :-)
