The box lock FTS 3003 is suitable for all standard, opening inwards, right or left windows and doors. The FTS 3003 is normally mounted inside on the opening side, the lock on the window casement / door leaf and the locking case on the frame. For the lock case, there are several enclosed distance plates, thus is for deeper frames up to 29 mm a mountable. We have this castle used for the patio door. It can be installed as indicated on wood, plastic and metal. We have quite strong plastic frame and pre-drilling to specification (3.5mm hole) is here unavoidable. The screws then fit perfectly and are "bombproof". You have to watch out a bit, so that the inner locking mechanism of the window / door is not damaged during drilling. The holes can, see instructions, therefore, be designed somewhat variable. 4 out of 6 possible drilling program on should be selected.
Should it, depending on the Frame, not 100% fit, something more tools and some technical skills may be necessary. I had (towards the frame near the edge) nachkürzen about 2 mm and a spacing of the plates on the frame was ground slightly for a better fit for the lock on the door panel which included short screws.
If you have done the installation (untrained, it left me with about 45 minutes lasted), the closing of the FTS 3003 by simply pushing manually temple (without a key) can be carried out. The opening is, however, possible with one of the included key. Our patio door is quite firmly locked alone through this castle, even if the door handle even the "open" position has. As far as everything was great, I would in my case the castle 4-5 stars (like me) awarded.
