Anyway, I've seen the 99 available on Amazon and I thought, what the heck, for the price I have a replacement smartphone whenever my "real" smartphone is not available - can not hurt.
I have to say I'm really surprised. So price / performance depends on the device all other smartphones currently available from easy, as I understand it. I have not even looked at the technical details exactly. I was never a big fan of Microsoft (as a web developer is no wonder). As I said, I needed quickly and transitional compensation.
First, I did not notice that the device has no HD display, since the display is really great. Compared to S3, the resolution is of course a joke, but quite honestly, it shows hardly (the S3 LTE Display repair costs the almost 150, well above the rate for all Nokia device). The automatic brightness regulation works project and the display is easy to read at any day or night - indoors and outdoors.
Nokia built here at only 99 a dual-core processor has enough power and even with the somewhat meager 512MB of memory, the device operates in constant liquid all areas. The crazy thing about it: Unlike my 600 teuerem S3 I had a single crash, not even feel I lack performance. Sure, if you compare some apples and oranges, which the Galaxy, of course, more load must work off, but obviously agrees Nokia hardware and software significantly better than Samsung does.
The internal memory is 8GB of course rather knap, but can be via microSD card to another 64GB upgrade. Onedrive, Google Drive and Dropbox are additionally available and fairly well integrated (OneDrive especially clear is indeed Microsoft). Make sure when buying a memory card to the "class" (Engl. Class). A Class 10 memory card is loose 5 times faster than a Class 1 and price makes it only a few euros (just ordered a 32GB for 16) - because it saves on the wrong end. Photos / Videos / Apps can be automatically outsource by default on the memory card - when it comes to memory's with the unit so no problems.
As crux of course remains the software: Windows Mobile 8.0, and now 8.1 if you registered for free as a developer, there's also the update directly and free. Updates were with me so far no problem. There is an auto-update feature - with one click you're up-to-date (more or less, according to ancient custom Windows comes as before after the restart another update, restart, update, reboot ... you know the Yes).
As already mentioned, I am the first Windows Mobile countered with a natural rejection - not entirely wrong. Comparing Windows with Android or Iphone, you can clearly see that Microsoft once again slept through the market and now is the laggard. Free memory, bullshit, constant Neulogins with App exchange at about 4 GB, partially - these are partially but not thought through trifles (own name / username never appear in the autocomplete, maps (maps) will download only times just 1GB data but also lack of important functions / software such as browsers or Flash So I had to install another of known browser unable:.. No Chrome, No Firefox, Opera No (-mini) There are Tagesschau app unfortunately any more as the ProsiebenSat1 App 7TV, for RTL. Overall, the Windows Store is obviously not comparable to Play or iStore and apparently not all apps available on all smartphones, even with the same operating system. Many apps are also not of the well-known publishers, but by . any developers and often full of advertisements (eg Google+, Google Maps etc.) Who goes there then making with which data is unclear to me, but one thing is certain: The Notice is in no way better, the more the data is rumgereicht.
What I initially also laughed at, is the tile system (Engl. Tiles). Actually quite a banal idea, but the more I deal with it, the better I think. It's amazing how well the phone can then be adapted to its own needs. Microsoft has here still some improving and / or replace and also for the one or other app on the store would still space, the potential is there, however.
Anyway, I'm from "total rejection" to "Fan" (a zugedrücktem eye) in less than 48 hours and who knows if Microsoft maintains this pricing policy, we see in Zukuft but three store logos under any app advertising.
My Conclusion:
Who the best is good enough, who is with Windows Mobile (still) wrong. The potential, however, since in each case. Who wants just a good smart phone or can live with the one or other corner and edge, which can not go absolutely wrong. For me, one thing is clear: you get here much longer than expected !!!
