Customer Review

So seriously folks - much to the Clapton albums of the 70 draufwar was of the second-rate material filler - who the compilation, Time Pieces` (I + II) and the 1980 released Live LP, Just One Night` calls his own has the best tracks actually this decade.

In the 80s, it was different then - as he wrote and quantitatively good songs - only were the then unfortunately often defaced with progression of the decade with too Zeitgeist sounds (especially the Phil Collins productions).

But complete success are the albums, Another Ticket` and just this one. , Money & Cigarettes` is a music in pop style Clapton album - from Blues is here relatively little to hear, but it has a generally positive mood, the arrangements are slim and timeless. Country sound effects by repeatedly and, Everybody Ought Make A Change`, I've Got A Rock'n'Roll Heart` and, Man Overboard` were there actually 3 potential hits on it (of which only Rock'n ' Roll Heart` should be a small, since one the other two tracks inexplicably not even auskoppelte).

The rest, however, is hardly worse - the fleet of shuffle, The Shape I'm in`, the driving, I'm Going down` that arouses a bissl memories of his version of, After Midnight`, the beautiful ballad, Pretty Girl `that just missed the class of, Wonderful Tonight`, Man In Love` in which the guitar like a cozy Klepper then trots in a Western or, Slowdown Linda` which is a blues, but rather moderate Southern rock.

Tom Dowd who took care of the good production and as musicians were Clapton Ry Cooder, Albert Lee, Donald, Duck` Dunn and the drummer of the legendary Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, Roger Hawkins aside, so all people that do not make sense for unnecessarily inflated Prouktionen , but want to groove floor. Maybe for a little slick and clean that sounds at times, but that was just announced so early 80s.

Still - a very beautiful and consistently succeeded plate of Clapton which goes down like a good sherry - unfortunately one of the few consistently good; then why only 4 stars? Because Clapton halt in front (especially with Cream) simply beudetendere and had made more compelling music. There's now back on vinyl - but at an outrageous price - the original black disc one gets used also in mint condition much much cheaper.
