Hot Fuss (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Long, long ago ... that's I for the first time (at the time in a verhunzten Dance version) is "Somebody Told Me" - and was fascinated. Not even the bad remix could hide the fact that this song was outstanding. The melody was catchy, the lyrics very strange - and precisely because of that great? - And then the voice par excellence! I was blown away and had to have the original. And this rocking, driving, almost a little stressful number The Killers then bestowed a place among my favorites, they could not destroy until today - even if they still give yourself some great trouble * g *.

Hot Fuss called itself then the light blue-clad debut the 4 guys from Las Vegas, which was hailed as the discovery of the indie rock scene. I think the board is not sooo Indie how many would it perhaps be persuaded, but that has never diminished the listening experience. And in the orbit of the new work DAY & AGE, it is probably about time also the first album to pay tribute. ;-)

Spurred on by "Somebody Told Me" I had almost scared the album would still fall to this song over something. What I was out of place! No matter how great the song might be, and how perfect he has pushed the band at the time - on Hot Fuss he is for me almost only mediocrity ... and that might mean something.

Let's go with

"Jenny was a friend of mine" - already the first few seconds of the song before the song starts, has made clear to me this CD is something special. The opener is with one of the best songs on the album, it was from the outset fascinating how well bring in something stale synth elements in this rock song. The song, sad, upset, angry, the song makes then perfect. 10/10

"Mr. Brightside" - many is this song unfortunately only since the OST of Keinohrhasen known there in a little lahmeren version. In the original, the song is full of strength and convinced me with its beautiful chorus that goes into the ear immediately. 10/10

"Smile like you mean it" - is a little quieter then, this song immediately got under my skin ... especially the beautiful passage in the middle part (... and someone is calling my name, from the back of the restaurant ... ) ... recommended for this purpose would be the Acoustic version that the boys have again published as a B-side of a single ... 9/10

"Somebody Told Me" - is and always will be a blast! A dance anthem that spreads joy and a rock to a pulp! Not for nothing this song has made known the guys! 8/10

"All These Things That I've Done" - The Killers and gospel singing? Is the? YES! And how! The song starts softly with piano and the beautiful voice of Brandon Flowers, then to develop into a world-class rock-pop song. And if you already grinning mitschunkelt and thinks "Great Song" sets Flowers go one better and make a little space for a brief but rousing Gospel passage before he then pulls the reins to in the grand finale of the song. Gorgeous! 10/10

"Andy" - great sense cinema! Nevertheless, the song then falls over the first 5 tracks for me somewhat. 7/10

"On Top" - The beginning sounds strange, but then you start off going with a rock number that increases more and us an incredibly catchy chorus to the ears without blushing skin! 9/10

"Chance your mind" - the song on the album for me! Once Flowers uses two voices singing, I got goose bumps all over. The beautiful guitar riffs do the rest. For this a wonderfully sad text .... 10/10 +++

"Natalie" - by "chance your mind" had this song doubly hard with me. Average. 5/10

"Midnight Show" - WOW! Rocks, Flowers sings the hell out of them before everything slowly goes with this beautiful strings to end .... 9/10

"Everythings will be alright" - the only song that has grown absolutely and completely on Flowers crap, here no one is likely to get involved. Therefore, the song does not fit into the concept. It is beautiful anyway. 7/10

Bonus Track "Glamoros Indie rock'n'roll" - Hammer Song! Glamorous until no longer works! Here sparkles the city of Las Vegas, as we know it. In this song to show the guys where they really come and knock really sleep on the plaster. This song makes the conclusion of fun! 9/10

Finally, I must say that I can hear the piece this album over and over again, the skip button I hardly need - and that means something. No matter what the boys have continued hired so all this album is great cinema! Earwigs, rocking numbers that still go under the skin, and of course something that probably will not work without the The Killers would - Brandon Flowers distinctive voice that alternates here perfectly between angelic singing and hysterical shrieks, and has made it clear to me that I here probably the vocal discovery of recent years in front of me have ...

This plate, I can highly recommend!
