The manufacturer was reading the review and offered me a second film to make it again to try. Here is an excerpt of the email with a few tips that do not sound wrong:

Please note that bubbles are not caused by dust inclusions, usually disappear within 72 hours, because only
then the adhesive has completely set.
If the bubbles are caused by dust inclusions, it is possible to clean the film and again
apply.
To do so, remove the film again from your device from. Keep them under lukewarm water, go with something
Detergent and rinse the film over again thoroughly. Then wagging the slide in the air a bit dry. The slide should properly again
stick.
We also recommend that you perform the installation in the bathroom by. Let advance of hot water in the bathroom running, so that
