Customer Review

This album stands with my father for many years on the shelf, but discovered so right for me, I have it only two weeks ago. Actually amazing when you consider that I have heard this album so many times, but have never really jumped on it - I probably need only a few attempts ... =)
There was at the very first (and also properly conscious) Listen Love on the I-know-not-the umpteenth glance.
It's the same with a real firecracker going on, called "Zoo Station". Bono's distorted voice roars across guitar noise and should best be properly played really loud.
"Even better than the real thing" (could actually be the album title) is absolutely awesome, with a good sing-along chorus.
The next track on the album is "One". For this song you can not really say much, because I think it defies description. "One" is probably the most famous song on the album and also one of the nicest. Consistently awesome, text and melody. (Please in the booklet times the image sequence eighth of the text on the far left ... * * Schmunzel)
"Until the end of the world" is again one of the lute-candidate, a very good rock song that has a single chorus, instead after each verse the same, brilliant guitar solo. My respect to The Edge ...
"Who's gonna ride your wild horses" is a beautiful ballad.
"So Cruel" is a rather quiet song. Pretty sad in my opinion, yet beautifully, but from exhausting length.
"The Fly" is an absolutely outstanding Song. The chorus is in itself awesome, sung with two voices (Bono and The Edge). But most fascinating is the guitar solo in the middle, one of the species that will never be forgotten.
"Mysterious Ways" is another cracker with a good sing-along chorus and an excellent guitar.
"Tryin 'to Throw Your Arms Around the World" is a quiet, beautiful song.
"Ultraviolet (Light My Way)" is for me a solid song, but I come from somewhere familiar - as if one had heard such a similar song before U2.
"Acrobat" is in my opinion not quite outstanding but a good work of U2. Here I find the text very well done ("... And you can dream - so dream out loud").
"Love Is Blindness" ends the album perfectly and leaves a bit of a dream ...
What fascinates me about the album immediately, was next to Bono's unmistakable vocals and The Edge's just incredible and especially hervorzuhebendes guitar playing. Almost every song has a successful, unique guitar solo in the middle. But not only The Edges guitar is great, but his singing is just awesome.
In summary, this album is a magnificent highlight in the career of four Irish and it really pays to have available this disc on the shelf - even if it takes a while before one for herself this masterpiece ... better late than never. .. =)
