The old model purchased in 2010 is nickel. The new model (it) is equipped with a DC transformer, and there is a mini inverter in the database, which is noisy: it produces a continuous sizzling, very disturbing for adults, and probably even more for a child. The old model had an AC transformer, so no need to UPS. Change is probably justified by the fact that the new transformer consumes less standby.
In short, distrust. (It is the second that I buy with this type of transformer, so I do not think this is a flaw inherent in my copy - the first sizzled as much).
