My Cassette Player (Audio CD)

Customer Review

By loveless production and often programmed sounds the CD unfortunately sounds more like a demo tape: It is not possible to capture the characteristic of her voice and the charm of their performances, instead the CD remains originating mainly shallow and "straightened".
In addition, the songs (such as the mandatory carillon in the chorus) work through the typical Raab Harmony turns and cliché instrumentation like a tired rehash of the relevant Winehouse / Allen-production, although braver and less punchy. Kate Nash is not to be thought here.
The sad climax is perhaps "Mr. Curiosity", the clear winner in the show by Lena sensitive and touching interpretation opposite Jason Mrazs original intensity - on her debut album, he comes up with programmed drums, resembling a '80s-years karaoke version recalls. Most likely convinced there's the funky "I like to bang my head" or "My Same". Overall, it would have a reasonable Backing- here but (live) band for all the shots required to tease out from the sometimes mediocre songs more.
The short-term success Lenas is the album do not detract from (are also the loveless produced 3 songs eventually successful in the charts boarded), but its potential, its charm remains in this production unfortunately on the track. That's a shame, because the CD playful in my opinion to get started in a quite promising career and slows Lena thus rather from. Just returned from a media professional and businessman as Raab one would have wished as little more foresight and courage to edgier production.
"My Cassette Player" in any case would not have probably succeeded in Lenas Cassette Player!
