BUT ...
In automatic mode, really hard to use! Since I agree with the previous speakers.
Absurd high ISO numbers with corresponding noise, even with flash shots.
The questionable auto focus flailing uncontrollably through the scene. Times the background is sharp, sometimes the desired object. A conscious choice is not possible. So I personally do not work, here is the "Snapshot" to "random shot."
BUT - the solution ...
With two-three settings one makes the camera into a solid tool in which one is again master of the house:
First you have to say goodbye to the auto mode and drag the small slide switch on the top left.
Then FUNC / SET button, there the shooting mode to "P - program".
Only now you can select the ISO value - set to "100".
Switch now to the menu ("Menu").
Only the previously selected Scene Mode "P - program" can be set in the menu to the AF area at "middle" and to taste the AF point size to "small" and Servo AF to "OFF". So you can finally when photographing again act as follows:
Curl enough sharply tory object, press shutter button halfway Select image section final, pull the trigger. Now is the sharp, what I want and not what chooses the inscrutable automatic randomly.
Digital Zoom I would also turn off, the cut can be selected later in the image editing better.
Now you can still turn on the grid, which prevents crooked images.
Now, the camera is what I want, the images are sharp and of the highest quality. So I like the Ixus ...
