Some went back and hop is sharpened!
Honestly I did not think the two small metal plates can be as effective.
Certainly there are some small burrs (the edge is not completely smooth) but a knife whose blade is completely dulled found a sharp in just 3 or 4 passes.

I almost buy back a second for my parents!
