Customer Review

As the comeback of the New Kids On The Block few years ago it was clear it was seemingly no particular message, but had already joined other boy bands like Take That or Boyzone again in front of you. Even the Spice Girls and our No Angels were on their way again. Nevertheless, the 5 guys were already on their wedding a little different and broke her fans a very special fascination. It was therefore no wonder that the announcement went through all of the messages and the announced tour was sold out in no time.

The first sounds you could then hear from THE BLOCK such as the fantastic clickclickclick were very promising and therefore one could hardly expect the new recordings to finally hold in your hands.

In fact, the disillusionment was nevertheless not be entirely avoided. Do not misunderstand: THE BLOCK was anything but a bad album, but somehow it presented itself somewhat disoriented addition to the really grandiose clickclickclick there were songs like the first single SUMMERTIME, a lively summer song, but not really with momentum.. The second single named SINGLE sounded more like NeYo feat. NKOTB as vice versa. And the appearance in Till Schweiger Knight movie with the third single DIRTY DANCING was indeed really funny, but again it is not clear what would tell us the tape.
Overall, you will be torn to THE BLOCK constantly back and forth, hurled from one style to the next and ultimately left somewhat perplexed whether NKOTB has become really mature or be guided too much by too many current trends.

On "10" things look completely different!

From the outset, it is clear that the focus is on one hand to danceable music (and I mean not continuously the unspeakable 90s dance style of us now get out depends on the ears and not just because we have chewed him already over 20 years ago), on the other side on the ballads avoid drift skillfully in lard area.

Already the first single REMIX (I LIKE THE) is something we have never heard from the boys and heard along with the video for the freshest and most modern what you even if you actually do not mention ever of a boy band (so can) has heard. But there are still the power ballads like TONIGHT WE OWN, WASTED ON YOU, the dancefloor Take My Breath Away, The Whisper or the (then yet easy on the lard limit scratching) Love Songs like MISS YOU MORE. CRASH could then nevertheless penned by David Guetta, but nevertheless makes a lot of fun.

As a special treat to finally make the hidden track after SURVIVE YOU (I call him LET'S GO OUT WITH A BANG) and the bonus track Block Party represents, which sounds a bit like a continuation of Hanging Tough.

CONCLUSION:
In my view, to be "10" the best album of Danny. Donnie, Joey, John and Jordan. For the first time they really have a consistent, new sound on an album packed which compared to the less successful THE BLOCK and the partly exaggerated Face the Music is self-contained and from front to back sounds good. One can wish the boys just that they will have a whole lot of success with this disc. They deserve it.
