There was in the 90s a mine of absolutely incredible platform games, Super Mario (Bros. / World), Earthworm Jim, Cool Spot, Aladdin, Castle of Illusion, Sonic and other Ninja Turtles, and in the midst of this bonanza : Donkey Kong. Visually lush, musically catchy, highly demanding, the game is the envy of the other above-mentioned sagas. What place does it have in 2013 for this type of game? Well, actually, the place is free! Yes, because today it is known to video games to the ultra-long life, we also know bring stunning visuals, but few platform games that are as demanding and where the jumps are also millimiters. Apart from Mario (Galaxy, New, World ...), there are few games that are as fun immediately. For Donkey Kong is all about fun. This is a game that is played, and on which we want to return, not necessarily to advance, but to remake certain levels (although let's be honest: When a game is over, we mostly want to go to another), especially because the developers have set challenges: in addition to complete a level, you will find puzzle pieces, letters KONG, banana pieces, or replenish a certain time limit. And as the levels are fine, as the universe is funny, well we go back with pleasure. Suddenly, we find ourselves there with a really engaging game, with the only fault (if we find one) that the characters are sometimes a bit small when they pass the background and gives a sacred feel : highlights the Supernes, Nes and Master System and re-tackle finish games mentioned at the beginning of this column, sometimes short games, but ultimately not so easy, which it is hoped (especially for Earthworm Jim) reboot. Donkey Kong is probably THE platform game of the 3DS (far ahead of Super Mario 3D, despite its very difficult bonus levels), we have not finished to return.
