Subsequent to the other 5-star reviews I can only say that the headphones in fact up to its reputation. I have the headphones now for about two weeks in use and am very excited. Beautiful, interesting highs and mids and powerful bass, right where they belong. No unnecessary roar. The sound is exactly how the singers, and the producers have taken him. A very neutral sound with clarities, where I would have never suspected so far. One hears out instruments that have been never heard before.
The stage is wide and very differentiated. It can be seen in various instruments partitions on the "stage". The violin left behind. The neutral bass throughout the room. Then a hiss rear right, to a first word of the singer. Many songs are at once become the ATH-M50 my favorite songs, although I had never liked to hear it. I would recommend headphones highly if you are looking for a neutral sound, comfortable headphone and good quality for little money.
