This barbell bar is for the self-training for the home perfectly fine. The thread at both ends reliably avoids that the weight plates to slip out. However, one should bear in mind that the weight plates when moving in front of the chin, so if one wants to bring under the bar hands with the barbell sometimes stick and rotate the fixing nut, which at high weights, if you do not count on this effect, very can be problematic. So if you want to train with approximate maximum weight this barbell is totally unsuitable because of the threaded fixation.
