Charger enables higher charging current decrease of the battery being charged. Particularly with generic batteries with more capacity, the charger is very useful. The built LED on the connector makes the highest note that voltage applied to the charger. So says nothing of the charge state of the battery. In short, faster battery charging time / capacity utilization of the batteries is made possible / long cable !!!
