The positive points are already in the description: Cordless, small (ie comparable to the classic Christmas tree candles from wax), light (weight is mainly determined by the AAA battery determined), simple mounting. With a remote control, the candles were both base sets (as promised) switch.
The practical experience last Christmas:
- No big secret, although mentioned here: The candles also consume off power / battery, because they "wait" on the remote control signal. Therefore insert batteries until 24. Which brings me to the negative point:
- In spite of perhaps 3-4 hours of light (in total, not per day), the (included) batteries were before / at 4.1. empty. The candles begin to blink (at about 1V residual voltage) at "empty" battery, but only when they are switched on by remote control. The specified KRINNER for 120 hours at 4 hrs. Per day (!) Are likely to be a laboratory value. Even when switched off the candles therefore require noticeable energy!
- Remote control switches quite reliable all the candles on / but from (of different positions in space), occasionally (but not always) does not recognize one or the other candle in the rear area of the tree and the signal stays out of or.
- Brightness: Who (two basic sets) an illuminated spectacle awaits with 28 candles (with sunglasses duty), is definitely wrong. Without having carried out objective measurements: 6 lighted candles were in previous years probably slightly lighter than the 28 LEDs
- Light color: white to pale yellow. Action may slightly cooler than candles with light bulbs, but not annoying - or even cold-blue light.
- Mounting: No problem, thanks to ball joint allows the candles always bring in upright position. With AAA battery slightly heavier than wax candles, so are quite thin branches impossible. However, one has no difficulty in finding positions for 28 candles on 2m-tree.
This year I will use rechargeable batteries, because I do not every year will produce 28 batteries "for the waste". Unfortunately, the period of use is even more suffer (less amount of energy in batteries) due to the scarce interpretation. If you do not turn on the candles on a regular basis, there is also still a risk that the batteries fully / over-discharged (because it does not recognize an empty battery but more energy is drawn), of which the batteries suffer.
Because I expect from a brand-name product that it in practice -. Even at higher burn time - up to 6.1 easily without changing the battery by holding (while the tree remains mostly), there is only 4 stars.
