The album itself is superb. The songs are accomplished, we feel that the group has given much thought to the concept of their album. Each title is distinctive, and found one of the "heads" of the Hydra each song. The duos bring more to the music of Within Temptation. "! Paradise (What About Us) As for" We enjoy listening Sharon den Adel and Tarja Turunen (ex-Nightwish) sing together The Whole World Is Watching ", I recommend the version with the Polish singer Piotr Rogucki -> clip to see on youtube.
After more pop-rock albums and even mainstream (The Silent Force / The Unforgiving), we return to the sources: symphonic metal with more bass that accompanies the melodic voice of Sharon. Robert Westerholt even reintroduced his "grunts" in "Moonlight Silver". It's good to see the band in its element but also to see the band renew: a surprising collaboration with the rapper Xzibit in "And we run" which works quite well with the very serious voice of the American who contrasts with that of Sharon.
CD2 is primarily the recovery of several songs called "pop" (broadcast on radio) by the group. It's not bad at all. What is interesting is the 4 "evolution track" at the end of the disc: the evolution of the creation of some songs (CD1).
For fans of Within Temptation and those new to recently, I highly recommend this album! Worth a visit :)
