Keyboard
+ Distance of 2.5 meters was not a problem
+ Good stop, precise and pleasant.
+ Useful special keys (magnifying glass, calculator, media, explorer and Browsersteurung)
+ Standard layout
+ Successful appearance: white bowl, black inlay, grippy matte black keys
+ Ergonomics: scratch-resistant rubberized pad below the keyboard, slightly convex keypad
- Esc and function keys might larger and mainly white (instead of dark blue) be labeled.
That's a real lack for me.
- Occupancy status of the keys unclear. To save power, the status of Caps Lock, Num and switching the F-keys, output only from the monitor. And that's only if you IntelliPoint / IntelliType of MS currently will download and install. What but anyway recommended.
- "Low Battery" lights up really quite shortly before the end.
- Really not the slightest popular keyboard, but the keys are already massive, and does not look cheap.
- Despite successful appearance: dark keys are less perceptible in low light for inexperienced. For touch typists may have the OK.
Mouse
+ Very grippy and durable rubber side, not greasy like Logitech
+ Many functions with discreet appearance
+ Mouse wheel inaudible without detent, very pleasant.
+ Buttons work very reliably with a slight but pleasant pressure point.
+ No Abtastprobleme, blue LED helps apparently really
+ The mouse is slightly higher than a standard mouse, with the same length it fills more hand.
- Switching off by putting the receiver in the mouse, I find absurd. A small slide switch would be good.
Recommended really is to download the latest IntelliType and IntelliPoint software from Microsoft. While working mouse and keyboard even so, all other functions for configuration provides the supplied driver, but only with Intellipoint the status messages to CapsLock, Num, F-keys, etc. displayed on the screen.
Overall, I am very satisfied, the positive aspects are more enjoyable than act the negative disturbing.
EDIT
After a few years, I note:
- The blue on black illegible marking of the F keys annoying. And since I (now blind) often use the F5 key, that text the arrow is gone, as well on the Shift key.
- The mouse is quite difficult because of the batteries and makes the use of Formica surfaces unsightly noise, mainly because there is dust at the bottom collects and mitschmirgelt ..
+ The stuff still works.
+ Even the gum is still impeccable.
EDIT after 3 years
- So now the rubber coating on the mouse is greasy and dissolves well soon. Functions as always.
EDIT after nearly 4 years
- Mouse: the tire has come off the wheel, the wheel is no longer so good grip, but still accurate. Miscellaneous rubber has not further deteriorated, OK
