Beforehand I pulled one I asked at the reception of the phone (which was included in the box of Z1C). Not that it was bad but I had been a little faster and had managed to trap two micro-dust underneath. Nothing annoying to use, but annoying when you have a brand new phone under the eyes.
Note that the smartphone is already equipped as standard with a film set by Sony. There is debate about the fact that this film will void the warranty if removed. Also note that the Sony logo on the front panel is included in the film series and therefore disappears the removal of protection. In all cases these are factory installed these films which are very sensitive to scratches: users say that the glass screen in this film resists well and therefore sufficient to remove it. Also it seems that the european version Z1 Compact is different from the Asian version: the back is actually plastic, not glass! (Update: due to flash reflection problem through the plastic back that gives pictures with a halo, it seems that Sony has returned to a back glass on the latest productions, check).
For my part, and when in doubt on this famous guarantee that jumps, I decided to keep the film series and ask them protection atFoliX over.
Laying atFoliX film was made without incident. I just fitted with a compressed air spray to be sure to have a dust-free surface. So without nickel poses no bubbles or dust, very happy. The cut is rather well adjusted and I regret just a micro gap of half a millimeter on the back at the longest edge.
By cons carefully before laying: I realized, unfortunately too late, that the films were not all perfect at the notches cut for sensors and APN. Indeed once laid back film I realized that the notch of the flash was still full so I play the tweezers to remove the pre-cut piece and finally have a hole there.
Worse, for the film before, once asked me I could see that the film is not cut at the light sensor and front camera! Yet I saw the cuts before installation but these were present on the protections on layers, not the main movie! On my other 2 remaining film that's a hole that I have so I just had the misfortune to take that which was improperly cut of three.
Personally it does not bother me because it does not prevent the proper use of the phone but if you insist then be sure to push each slot with the tip of a pen to make sure that there has a hole at this level .
If not for the record I am very happy; it is almost invisible and not too "sticky" to the touch although it has nothing to do with the great feeling of slipping on a real glass pane. At fingerprints I will say that it is kif kif, even when we spend time cleaning the surface. By cons it makes slightly sharper edges when moving finger on it. Nothing dramatic but it hangs a little more.
Big advantage of atFoliX kit: we therefore have 3 films for the front and 3 rear. So you are entitled to 3 attempts to get a perfect finish;)
Overall I am very happy. To see how it evolves over time (DT) and how it behaves with moisture (because the phone is waterproof, to see if the water does not damage the movies or off).
UPDATE:
So I use my Z1C atFoliX equipped with these movies at the front and back since mid-February 2014. I'm pretty careful with my phone which is most of the time stored in a pants pocket or jacket without keys or other small currencies that could scratch it. Yet the films already have many micro-scratches. Nothing very annoying as it may be seen as only phone off. Regarding fingerprints confirm that I have always the same, no miracle. In short I think the real "plus" of these films is cutting nearly perfect shapes of the phone. Otherwise it remains a movie that there was more classic and it will change every year according to such use. Ultimately I think trying a glass protection Niilkin style Muvit or Rhinoshield.
