In 1989, the songwriter has ventured from Depeche Mode to his first little solo project. This was based on songs by artists he likes personally and which he had in a separate light want to represent. All songs have a nice, dreamy melancholy mood. Built on electro Sichen sounds they are the right background music for a rainy Sunday afternoon Mach. Never the songs or the arrangements seem corny or too playful. Martin L. Gore always manages to preserve the seriousness. What remains to conclusively say that the arrangements are held simpler compared to Depeche Mode (but not bad) and the voice gives the songs Martins its own special touch. A beautiful album to relax, but unfortunately much too short.
