David Garrett here presents us with a very gentle and tender Beethoven. Which the soloist in this concerto certainly offered moments of self-expression he uses never unpleasantly intrusive from, but interpreted in a beautifully harmonious unity with the orchestra. His tone is very bright, very bright and in the deep layers of surprisingly warm. The two cadenzas in the first and third movements are energetic, virtuosic and exciting. I have this concert by him very much more energetic and powerful heard what caught with his expressive facial expressions, live is simply stunning, but this CD recording takes me in her calmness and tenderness in another way as well. Beautifully!
Choosing the Kreisler pieces is consistent and fits. Dramatically the Allegro, passionate of Rachmaninov, the buoyant Caprice Viennoise, exuberant of Corelli, the romantic Larghetto, playfully Tambourine Chinois and devotedly the Liebesleid. The arrangements like me exceptionally well 'something clearer and with less frosting than the' Classic Romance ', but still very lyrical and consistently heartwarming' because it is David largest interpretative strength.
The contents of the DVD of the Deluxe Edition is surprisingly extensive and informative, as I had expected. Davids life is rendered very interesting. The fact that among many other also comes the great Itzhak Perlman to speak, pleased and impressed me very much. Also previously unreleased private recordings make the documentation in a very personal story and bring a musician and man David Garrett a little closer.
Legacy 'great music of Beethoven and Kreisler' beautifully passed by David Garrett!
