For this music Howard works with Lebo M., who has an amazing craft proved with Hans Zimmer for "The Lion King". "Dinosaur" is just like "The Lion King" very African tinged, with a lot of choir and drums and it just fits perfectly.
"Inner Sanctum - Nesting Grounds" forwards this CD just beautiful one: Gentle flutes, the same as sound out of time, to the majestic choruses, but still hold back. In half of the title will be very dynamic, but still remains as gently as at the beginning. Incredibly, when I hear the first few seconds of this title, I am fully in it in the music ...
"The Egg Travels" is the main theme of the film and the score of course: Only peaceful and the mood goes in a completely different direction! Driving and lively sounds, with much choral use until the full orchestra breaks out and the beautiful and breathtaking theme plays in all its splendor. My tip: turn on loud and fly away together with the pterodactyl over gorges and waterfalls.
"Aladar & Neera" is the delicate issue of the two dinosaurs, a very subtle, but beautiful piece that is magical in the middle easily.
With "The Courtship" Howard and Lebo M. shows the beautiful and happy side of the score with dynamic, rhythmic sounds and the wonderful choir and use this African flair that fits exactly. Here the whole atmosphere comes from a paradisiacal island over.
"The End Of Our Iceland" is action! Only very enchanting and magical sounds the piece, the mood is always suspicious and then goes into panic and escape. The orchestra performs the handset as exciting by the story that the images are already nearly obsolete. Although Howard used here a few synthesizer beats, but also fit the overall picture.
"TheyŽre All Gone" is a short and depressing piece. The destroyed island almost builds up on its own in the listener's head. The choir is reinstated here very discreet and the orchestra plays the tragic music with a lot of feeling.
"Raptors - Stand Together" is probably my favorite on the CD, because here the impressive oven theme is played. A dramatic piece, full of action and excitement to the heroic efforts of the aforementioned oven theme, that's a little strong for me yet, as the actual main theme of "The Egg Travels". And here it comes right at his brutal peak: goosebumps!
And with "Across The Desert" this great theme is continued equal and indeed with a dramatic, rhythmic background. Also a clear highlight on this CD!
"Finding Water" is a variation of the main theme, which is played very gorgeous especially at the end.
"The Cave" is particularly in end sonically very charming and somewhat reminiscent of "The Land Before Time" by James Horner.
Again a little darker and rapid it is in "The Carnotaur Attack", a hair-raising piece with some approaches from. "Raptors - Stand Together" but with a tragic end
"Neera Rescues The Orphans" is sound again very lively and cheerful. For this, a beautiful choral version of "Aladars & Neeras" - theme.
"Breakout" is again a very thrilling piece, here the resistance theme is played, but unfortunately only in this track. A slowly building piece of that is becoming stronger and more intense until it breaks and then fully rises, impressive!
"It Comes With A Pool" begins with the great music from "The Courtship" and then again exciting and with "Kron & Aladar Fight" is Howard again in the Action level and is a thrilling finale, again with parts of "Raptors - Stand Together "(which represents the actual finale of the film).
And with "Epilogue" Howard finished his masterpiece with the magnificent music of "The Egg Travels" and a powerful final note!
Wow! Just great this soundtrack! Howard proves here his flair for the right music and combines this with a magnificent and colorful score. "Dinosaur" is really a must in the endless list of "must have" - soundtracks!
Not only fans of James Newton Howard or the movie "Dinosaur" (a really great and visually fascinating Disney experience!), This CD a precious treasure, no without pictures and film here you experience a wonderful story. This is film music, as you wish to participate. Buy, listening, dreaming!
