Alice Sebold has processed a brutal rape in this book. Maybe it is because of the beginning, which deals extensively with the crime, so much more power than the end? The book begins namely simply brilliant. Is equipped with all the weapons of a psycho-thrillers from the perspective of the narrator I Susie Salmon tells how she is kidnapped, raped and murdered by her neighbor Mr. Harvey. About 400 well-to-read, fluent sides told Susie in their existence as a ghost then the future life of their family - the futile search for her killer, the breaking of the marriage of their parents, the growing up of her siblings. In between, she does "break" in their heaven, the just for them - is created - an eternally 14 years.
I enjoyed the book from start to finish, but no reviews had previously read. Therefore, I was eventually confronted with the fact that what starts as an exciting thriller rather than "soft" story of love, forgiveness, processing of terror ends. The book is well written in the sum, but the break did not like, I have at the end of the inherent strength but greatly missed, so my hand just 4 points.
