Jacques Bainville was a royalist. But it is objectivity that has made it successful. The proof: A royalist anti-Bonapartist is by definition, because for them Bonaparte usurped the crown. Yet personally Napoleonic being, I do not see anything like this in the relevant chapters. I would even say that this is what I have that I think is most fair and consistent with the idea that I have of the Empire. Consistency is another plus the writings of Jacques Bainville. The history of France therefore fits in logically As chapters and understanding of cause and effect make this adventure a unit that can be called the fate of France. It stops after the war of 14, the author died. Note also that in another work, Bainville had described to the letter the causes of the Second World War decrypting the Treaty of Versailles. He has that quality that makes the great historians: the pen and objectivity. The pen of Bainville is very beautiful and although this book is sometimes a little hard to follow, J.Bainville conveys his passion for history. And it's a fabulous thing to get into it, to sail close to the most important people of our country, through the ink of a passionate and in love with the history of France. The talented Bainville is make us love the history of France. How beautiful with this author. You have a book written by a historian who was a monster of knowledge and culture.
