The monitor is probably one of the fastest (if not the fastest)
and thus games predestined for extremely time-critical applications such as FPS.
Especially the 120Hz mode is a pleasure, even the windows on the desktop we rumziehen a new experience,
so smooth and clear as never before. A direct comparison to 60Hz acts violently.
Thanks to 120Hz course Nvidia 3D Vision ready and certified :)
The monitor processing seems very good, nothing wobbles due to the massive base.
The tilt and height adjustment make really sense pivot function for programming or surfing included in the portrait!
Practically also is the external control unit (with mouse wheel ^^), because unfortunately the built-in screen touch buttons work very inaccurate and slow.
It often takes 10 attempts and only with the whole hand in front of the touch probe ruled on the entry. But with an extra mouse to be much faster in the menu on the go.
The menu is huge, very many settings, and a lot of presets verfügber.
Unfortunately, all of the settings in each mode are not available, the connection why yes or no to me is not clear.
In the 3D mode are merely Light Boost (brightness) and contrast adjusted, but this is the case with almost all 3D monitors.
In addition, some of the manufacturer and the Counterstrike professionals settings are available for download,
the update to monitor works with a mouse click without any problems.
The brightness is up to about 400cd / m2 at 100% enormously, while surfing I have to crank down to 0-20%, the brightness, so as not to blind.
Contrast and color reproduction, depending on mode enjoyable, good to very good and not too intrusive (Ca to 90% sRGB). In some modes but not entirely colorfast.
Calibrated monitor is suitable for semi-professional Photoshop, but look for colors and photo of the monitor is not made :)
At 100% brightness very light LED Backlight bleeding is evident in the border area, but only when completely black test pattern and otherwise not interfere.
Gamma and color temperature work very well, are also adjustable.
There are some gaming modes the possibility to increase slightly the lower black levels (Black Equalizer),
To achieve a higher relative contrast in very dark areas.
The reaction time and the input lag of the BenQ are phenomenal! No streaks, no tearing, no lag.
Input Lag almost not measurable (less 10ms!) And no negative Wirkunges of (deactivatable) overdrives recognizable.
So in 2D mode at 120Hz simply a pleasure, regardless of whether fast games, movies, or surfing. Just perfect.
Of course, the 3D mode is a madness. Tested with Nvidia 3D Vision. 2
Setup is no problem even with two Blidschirmen (a 60Hz to) run!
The brightness in 3D mode is very good, thanks to the fast panels relatively little ghosting or Xover side effects can be seen.
In the lower third (few) applications / games under high contrast but significant ghost images (Cross Talking) are present in some,
what is negatively striking in games because down there worn weapon or the race car is usually positioned.
This effect is, however, slightly through individual contrast settings, but usually not entirely correct.
It could depend not only on the monitor, but also to the sync the 3D Vision Controller.
I will carry out further tests.
Verdict: Very good multimedia and 2D / 3D Gaming Monitor!
Unfortunately, the first model had a pixel error and went back. The second was perfect.
So be sure to test and ensure the possibility of an exchange, then the pleasure with the XL2420T will be at hand.
Without weave to make: Tested, measured and calibrated with colorimeter, compared with LCDs and CRTs.
