This model has the full frequency set and the model number is E5776 S-32.
It has the Following frequencies on the S-32 model sold in Europe: (Caution OTHER MODELS: such as S-22 have different frequency specs.)
LTE Penta band frequencies: 800MHz, 900MHz, 1800MHz, 2100MHz, 2600MHz
DC-HSPA + / HSPA + / HSDPA / HSUPA / UMTS Quadband able to 43.2Mbit / s in download and 5,7Mbit / s during upload (850/900/1900 / 2100MHz), no SIM-Lock factory, world free for all Networks
GSM / GPRS / EDGE quad-band capable (850/900/1800 / 1900MHz)
REMARK: If you do not need UMTS / HSPA frequencies 850 / 1900MHz (You do not need them in Germany but you need them in EC in Thailand, Australia, NZ, ....) then you can therefore buy the
Telekom Speedbox LTE mini.
This one is much cheaper.
It is the Telekom branded SIM LOCK FREE version of the E5776 S-32 but it does not support UMTS / HSPA 850/1900 MHz cause theyhave been in switch of firmware.
But
You must keep it cool and in the shade. it will get warm and even hot with high usage. When it is too hot it will simply stop working.
Ambient over 35 ° C requires a forced cooling solution. A small fan does the job.
So the file sharing for the internal SDcard is a bit clunky cause it only works over the web interface.
So They Will not show up as a mapped network drive as I photoshoped. I have not been able to find a FTP server on board, maybe I overlooked something
Geek:
put it in front of you wife's steel strainer, or nick ago steel salad bowl and you have a perfect directional antenna. Steel toilet brush holder may therefore work, I never tested did for some reason ....
Or use a satellite dish or antenna meshed ... advantage Is That You Do not Need a tuned antenna for this. This works for 3G and 4G Possibly for (Not Confirmed by me).
Otherwise for 3G use of external antenna tuned: such as a Yagi directional or omnidirectional some with a cable over the external antenna port. Be careful in antenna-country Cause you may lose more than you gain. Buy a good one cause the quoted gain is what is says 'quoted gain' and not what you truly may get at your antenna port.
Caution 4G antennas:
Caution as 4G uses 2 Polarised signal you will need two external antennas Polarised. Hence the single external antenna port only fully works for 3G! On 4G It Seems to use one external and one internal antenna so. So not sure how much improvement you will get from facts on 4G.
If You Need 4G with external antennas (eg 2 x Polarized Yagi) Make sure you make an informed choice about the E5776 external antenna port.
4G speed:
USB connection only gives you the full 4G speed Because of the limitation of the speed wifi. When USB on others can silently connect over wifi. So in fact only one connection can have full 4G, others go 'only' as fast as WiFi Allows. I see no Hinder there.
Caution IPv6:
Check if IPv6 works on this model if you truly need it. I was not able to get it confirmed.
New information in 2014
The newer model E5372 has now two TS-9 connectors specifically for a LTE antenna array Which solves the issue with LTE antenna if you need one. The newer E5372 therefore has 5GHz WLAN but a smaller battery.
So take your pick, one is not better than the other, depends on what you need.
