So much for the general points. The Wiser BA 100 falls into for some time as mushrooming out of the ground squad of Tri-Path amps such as from SMSL, Topping, etc .. The reviews of these devices let me partially but cringe: Problems channel balance, excessive heat generation, distortions, inefficient, defective power supplies, etc .. One thing was clear, it had to get a mini amp, which can provide from a performance point of my ELAC CL 305 with sufficient power. The Wiser BA 100, this seemed to be able to 6 Ohm with its 2 * 50 W and was also not yet panned by various reviews. The APTX Bluetooth option was also (almost) without competition and the price of 129.00 EUR tempting. So ordered fix and here comes my review.
Starting from the careful packaging to exquisite finishes the amp made already when unpacking a very good impression. In addition to the supplied AC adapter, a 3.5mm minijack cable for the rear AUX port, a Bluetooth antenna, the remote control in credit card format as well as a sufficiently detailed user manual was included.
Installation is fast. The speaker could connect cleanly via banana plugs, the Bluetooth pairing with my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 closed immediately. You should remember the Bluetooth antenna. Without the antenna has almost universally disconnections or sound dropouts. With the antenna everything is ok.
The operation is simple as it is effective. Via Bluetooth you can adjust the volume on both the smartphone, as well as directly on Wiser BA 100 or its remote control. It is very pleasant that the remote control is also designed to make Skips forward or backward or to pause playback. The sound can be influenced via the 3 presets on the remote control (jazz, R & B, rock) or it provides bass and treble individually himself a. At each change of the sound or the volume a centrally disposed orange LED scale displays, but after about 2 seconds disappears. Remember only the green standby LED and the blue LED or the optional BT-switched-LED for AUX lights.
We come to the sound. The Wiser BA 100 deafened beginning with the Presets R & B and rock a little, with jazz Preset the sound was again a little too much treble. But after the flat setting with a step + for treble and bass, I was very pleasantly surprised. Even at higher volumes of Amp hardly seemed strained. It was not until the 5 LED in the volume indicator were first to hear distortion. Speaking here but significantly above room volume. Overall I would give the AVOX amp sound via Bluetooth FLAC material from the source device a smooth 2. That's really good at what is possible with this little device to sound. Sure lack spaciousness and the dynamics of a mature high-end amplifier, but you should always keep the price in focus. In Naim I get not even a power supply for 129.00 EUR. After about 6 hours of continuous operation, the device was not even lukewarm incidentally. I then tested the headphone output and was surprised and very pleasant. With my Philips Fidelio L2 no difference to my Meier Opera KHV was out listening. Above all, I was here to test the channel balancing very well and realize: Both channels are matched exactly the same.
Conclusion:
For the one you wanted 129.00 EUR I am more than satisfied with the device. Using the BT functionality and the AUX input can be operated 2 sources with the device. The headphone amplifier operates satisfactorily, the power output should satisfy the vast majority of shelf speakers and sonically I am not only considering the price more than satisfied. Added to the ease of use comes with the remote control, which is missing in most Tri-Path Amps. For me so far the best-buy in 2015!
