The device on Windows Vista x64 was initially a bit tricky. The software supplied on the CD is hopelessly outdated. A current version of the program is on the manufacturer's website to download - exemplary.
This includes zweiterlei programs. One is just needed to scan, which does not apply to me because I want to run only the Pixma IP3000.
You have to install the port, and then connect using the printer driver with the software first.
There is also necessary a detailed list of FAQ's from the manufacturer. The helped me a lot, because my printer has indeed responded to the Test side, but the bidirectional support not immediately ran (message, the printer is offline).
Short durchgewühlt and then everything went. I'm very satisfied with the device.
If necessary, but you should think, perhaps to buy the successor. The devices are, however, usually optimized for a particular manufacturer of the printer, so there is eg. This Canon version. So if you plan to buy in the near future a new device, or the old instrument displays, for example age-related weaknesses, there is a danger that the expensive new acquisition is no longer compatible (see Pixma IP4700).
