Got my brought moment during a US trip, so does not refer to a bought on Amazon Germany copy.
One Caveat: the plug is US, with an adapter, this is also in Europe, since the power supply 220 volts. I assume that if the player will be officially available in Europe, it will have a european plug. But the US version is fine with me. Android TV OS is in English, German, French un Spanish available on the Nexus Player.
The player itself is very small, and the remote control. Because it works with Bleutooth man can simply hide in the closet.
Man can thus play, download apps and soon much more. In addition, an (almost) full Chromecast is given support. I would always prefer a Chromecast because it can play the apps directly from the instrument man, and above all, like to record on Netflix, full hardware support has (ie Full HD playback) compared to streaming stick.
Of course the price is also a bit higher than the Chromecast, so man has to decide it myself whether this has an added value.
Pros and Cons:
+ Fast Setup
+ Thanks to quad-core Intel processor runs all liquid
+ 802.11 AC wifi
+ Very clear
Anschliesbar + USB sticks via OTG
+ Voice commands via the small remote control (I tried only in English)
+ Standard Android 5.0, so should be easy to develop for developing new apps
+ Bleutooth keyboard and mouse are recognized without problems
+/- Almost full Chromecast support (only the reflection of the phone did not succeed)
- Only 1GB RAM
- Only 8GB Memory (without SD card option)
- No Internet browser
- Very little apps at the moment
