better than I thought, am very impressed ....

I have for some days the Archos 10.1 with 16GB. Beforehand I had tried a few other devices, as well as the WeTab, which was definitely too hard, the iPad, which was hard and the connections ... well, forget it.

Priced the Archos for me is as a tablet beginner course very interesting. And the weight is good, especially for this screen size.
The tension was great, my only touch experiences were in the past three years smartphones.
But everything works great; the establishment of the wireless worked immediately, and the connection via UMTS with the phone went smoothly. However, I tend to later to a UMTS WLAN router. That to me is the only negative point so far: no direct SIM connector.

Then I looked for firmware updates and have become equal to find. Oh ... registration closed only at the second attempt ... but whatever. And then came the Market Access - everything fine.
I've been using this device primarily for couch-surfing, media playback, and very important to me: as an eBook reader. With the new App Aldiko you can even import and read DRM protected ebooks when the corresponding Adobe ID is entered. My "normal" ebook reader is given away. ;-)

After a few days I have "eingefuchst" me, optimizes startup screens for my needs and used to the "delicate" finger touches. Initially I've always been a little too tightly packed ;-) The display reactions are fine, sometimes a little zuuuu sensitive when I was a little slide reading accidentally from the frame on Dislply. But that will be only matter of habit.

If you look a little concerned with the matter, to get quickly behind it ... I am 66 year old pensioner and had been no Android experience.

Supplement on the evening of 4.2 .:

Meanwhile, I have received an update of the Archos firmware again;
Archos I bought a plug-in for playing home movies (MPEG2), it works just fine;
my G2 USB flash drive is recognized and provides possibly me the aforementioned films.
a Micro-SD is also installed, as I have plenty of stored music;
WLAN also connected to my FritzBox Media Server is detected and accessed easily and quickly.

Oh yes ... even YouTube movies are played excellent. Unfortunately, I have a Ruckelbild when transferring CTTV. But this may also be that I have not yet found the right settings for such films via the Internet.

Otherwise, I'm with many apps on taste ;-) And some I've already thrown down, others reloaded ... Two Berlin radio station apps I will remove, because I'm either too clumsy or these apps may not operate properly. ... ;-)

Still, I'm happy!
