I assume that the water filter Krups rather come in machines used for the users like to invest a little more money to be able to experience a good cup of coffee.
Of course, such follow-up costs are not pleasing but who values quality, which had to resort always a little deeper into their pockets.
At home a filter holds approximately 4 weeks (the machine calculates the water consumption, max. 50 liters may be filtered).
Assuming an average water volume of 150 ml for a coffee, then these are about 330 coffee, equivalent to about 4 cents per cup for the water filter.
I think that can get over ...
I have tested even more favorable, compatible "No Name" water filter for Krups and was then safely; I only use the original.
Processing and quality impression was definitely not as good as in the filters Krups.
In addition, the alternative filters now are not really sensational cheaper.
Conclusion:
If you value quality should pick up the original.
Personally, I have been doing a better feel.
