"Your defective unit will be repaired either on site or sent back picked up and repaired.
In case of total loss, you will receive a replacement device of the same kind and quality. This is not possible, you will be reimbursed according to the following scale:
1st year (after purchase) = 100% of the purchase price
2nd year (after purchase) = 80% of the purchase price
3rd year (after purchase) = 80% of the purchase price
4th year (after purchase) = 60% of the purchase price
5th year (after purchase) = 40% of the purchase price
The repair / regulation is free of charge. You have no deductible. "
That sounds basically all good, but the problem is the next to last sentence: "The repair / regulation is free of charge."
This is wrong. Because the value is not only used as a basis when it comes to reimbursement in case of total loss (if no replacement can be obtained, as it says in the description), but also to the refund of all other repair costs. The ERGO Conditions are right because clearly, and so a fair value grading is also common for insurance companies. Of course, I should have read the Terms and Conditions before completing exactly ... But it's not that. I quote times from Section 2.2 of the Terms ERGO:
"[...] We provide the insurance case, compensation for necessary
Repair costs of an insured device, up to a maximum
equaling the current market value of the instrument according to section 2.4 [...] "
Value is here, for example, 40% of the purchase price at an age (the washing machine) for five years. Short Example: My washing machine has cost 349 euros. When she was five years old is the value currently 139.60 euros. If the repair is expensive, I pay it.
This is something quite different from "The repair / adjustment is for you free of charge", as it says in the Amazon product description. This phrase is misleading and likely customers who are interested in the insurance, to promise something wrong. I express myself deliberately carefully, because I want to impute any intention to deceive. But it remains a bad aftertaste.
Long story short: I find the mentioned rate should quickly disappear from the description.
I'll withdraw from the contract and would like Amazon or the ERGO directly for clarification.
Thank you for reading!
