Seagate BlackArmor ST340005LSD10G-RK External Hard Drive 4TB (8.9 cm (3.5 inches), 7200rpm, Gigabit Ethernet, 32MB cache, USB 2.0) for NAS Systems (Accessories)
Equipped with 2x 2TB SATA disks SEAGATE server found in my network (Gbit) its use as a Raid 1 server for backing up HD video files. The backup of these files require rapid processing (data storage) because of their size. Now as a RAID 1 system provided 2 identical systems their job for 2 months reliably. Despite the fan, the smoothness of the drive systems is amazing. Only when accessing the procedures of the head should be noted. As a redundant data processing systems these are a useful complement to 2TB video editing system. Setting up the system with associated software is carried out quickly and easily. For backup of system partitions and the backup of video folders, the BlackArmor (RAID1 mirrored system) can increase NAS220 with 2 hard disks for total of 4 TB, for my application the right solution. At first only a NAS220 was used, but after a short time was the addition of an additional server for me tight. With careful establishment of the NAS system and all the technical documentation is (currently at 220 GB) centrally stored as well as photos, scanned DIA, digital photos with these systems with me. According to the current state of knowledge, to a little over 2 months in continuous operation, I can confirm the reliability of the system. Even when working with speed, I can say nothing but good things in the Gbit / s range and the data transfer rates. If, of course, in Gesammtsystem is somewhere a bottleneck the system with transfer rates going down. The exact transfer rates are of course vary from system to system. The weakest link in the chain are involved in the network computers.
