The plot was pretty intrigued me, which drove me to experiment without knowing the first volumes of the series.
After closing this book, I can only applaud the genius - and sadism - the author. Not for a moment, I have suspected the killer. Never. The writer is really good at mislead us, lead us false leads in false assumptions. For the same survey, but also sometimes for the same actions: we think it will unfold a drama ... and no, it is quite trivial.
The writing is masterful.
We find ourselves amazed by the maze of the mind of the author whom we regard effortlessly right from the prologue. Who is lying in that hospital room? What is the secret of Truls? Where is Valentine? What he plans to do? and the church in the end?
So we can suddenly think that the resolution of the investigation is too slow, making the book still 700 pages, but it allows the author to set up all its rooms, with stray on the wrong track and above well be felt throughout the police frustration player who has no track.
In short? A stunning novel that I recommend, even if you do not know the series.
