This '97 album is next Parklife (1994) Blur's best work, both plates of different can hardly be: Parklife was a pop record amidst the Britpop wave, is "Blur" a alternativeres album, which offers tremendous variety. In addition to faster punk songs like Song 2 (number 1 in Australia), MOR (Top 10 UK) and chinese Bombs there the wonderful acoustic "You're so great", the number-one single "Beetlebum" and the almost hip-hop (pige) "On His Own" (UK Top 10). The highlight of the album are "sad ballad Country Man" and the wonderful "Death of a party" two rather quieter pieces. With "BLUR" have managed to blur, to escape the Britpop wave and playing contemporary music. It is a pity that way too thin booklet, in which not even the texts are printed.
