The book is amazing Amélie Nothomb is inflated, it is a reminder that all these emissions of "reality TV" without exception refer to the Nazi extermination camps (the principle is almost the same), but with one major difference: the cameras. What makes these shows perhaps even more stupid, cruel and inhumane that these extermination camps, at least prisoners were not continuously observed, and which did not offer cash bonus to the survivor. For this book, Nothomb is therefore first takes the organizers of these shows, it compares (rightly) to the Nazis, but especially to viewers (the "calves"), their crass hypocrisy and lack Total of discernment, which allow these broadcasts to spread forever in duration, and have the nerve to be indignant of the principle of emissions yet they look carefully avoiding to do anything for it exchange - which is, again, the truth - and to their vile organizers rubbing their hands without shame. Hence all these negative criticism from a majority of readers certainly delight to watch this kind of as empty as weak emission (which does not involve anything, except their lowest voyeuristic instincts, operated without shame or restraint) and have thus seen a ruthlessly mirror held against them. It is well known, it is only the truth hurts. And it is on these points that the book is fly everywhere.
Keep it Miss Nothomb, you have the buffet, do not be discouraged by all these hypocrites, and even if your book has weaknesses - in particular that, chronically, to bring out a lot of character (to compare this character of God, which may seem excessive well) to the detriment of all others, which, as a result, may seem quite insipid - it reflects a rare talent and with uncommon strength, a grim reality of which I personally 'would like to see death.
This book is recommended primarily for those who do not pretend to hate this kind of issue rotten and who never watch (which I am). The others - the majority - will go their way, this novel does not avail them much.
