Boring and superficial ...

White Queen (Paperback)

Customer Review

I have read almost all of Philippa Gregory's books --- some were good, some great, and some -: such as this one - were not.

What bothers me most about "The White Queen" Is that the style of writing is unbelievably dry and boring. I kept thinking, "Who cares?" ...

Whereas "The Other Boleyn Girl" or "Wideacre" (to name just two) were imaginative and vividly written, "The White Queen" just lacks that special something That makes you care about what happens to characters thesis, makes you want to keep reading , Instead, I had to force myself to read another chapter, and then another one, and so on.

All the characters in this book are superficial and one-dimensional. We do not really learn anything about any of them. The story is told completely Call from Elizabeth's perspective, Which Means That You do not get to know what might be going on in anyone else's head. As a reader, you never understand why Edward is drawn to Elizabeth, and from the start there is no chemistry at all between them. In fact, most of the time it feels as if Edward is just an unimportant supporting character who turns up every once in a while.

Now, I do not normally mind books did are written in the first person, but this time around I just felt annoyed.

For me, this is Mrs. Gregory's worst book so far.
