The first is that there was a typical book example would need a CD to accompany each named instrument (OK this is not the purpose of the collection). For a 3 year old, it is well to say that the triangle is part percussion, but must still give immediately the corresponding sound, otherwise it remains in total abstraction.
My second criticism, not least, that's when we go to pages 18 to 21, where we talk of African music (p18-19), Aborigines (p20), Indian (p21). And there, no caption, no registered name near the instrument drawn! For the group of African musicians, for example, certainly I recognized djembe, already mentioned on page 14 (I do not have the answer for the other 5 drawn). And I challenge you to recognize one of five instruments of the Indian group!
At 3 my daughters want the concrete, not theory (go already explain to a 3 year old that is that aboriginal and Australia, good luck).
So for me, this book is a very good start, BUT the parent's interest to make a small compilation on youtube to illustrate the drawn by its instruments. And add the missing names for p18 to 21 (thank you Wikipedia). In short, the job perspective if your kids are real little curious.
