Have never stayed a game with a HOTAS served and was relatively frustrated accordingly at the beginning, but, as I could a lot more accurate targets with mouse & keyboard, however, was thrilled from the very beginning from the accelerator / throttle. With the boost control is much more accurate than using the keyboard and the Throttle has sufficient also for all important functions in SC button. Personally, I've put my boost, engine decoupling, Countermeasures and off GSafe / Comstab on the Throttle buttons. For the slider, which in my opinion is much too sensitive anyway, I have so far found no use. For the price of the throttle is worth the money.
The joystick in turn is its own thing. The buttons are consistently well positioned, but I personally would have two additional buttons on the joystick, because the existing have been exhausted quickly. As already mentioned, I had never a HOTAS or a joystick in use. After a few hours, however, it gets better from the controller. So just like the mouse never wirds the joystick, however, because at least in my copy the deadzone for X / Y axis is different, so I come to hell - out does not create circular movements. In general, the control with the joystick feels not very linear in - at some points kommts me so ago when he would "hang" short and fine movements are really hard because of the large deadzone. For me rather frustrating :(
Conclusion for me: I like the feeling of flying a HOTAS - control but this HOTAS things will not go because of the joystick, the pretty "rough" feels more. Hope it can be using the joystick of the X52 fine round & taxes.
