I've always been music lover, but had not yet really on the hi-fi area a lot of experience. So I have got a buddy caught the plays several instruments to me standing in the rating for this page - 4 ears hear all know better than 2)
Our musical tastes are very versatile, and so we have to the (relatively long) break-in period a weekend time taken to test the two test subjects through its paces - and loved it!
Whether rock, heavy metal, jazz, instrumental, electric, classical music - whether loud or soft - these speakers could always provide an absolutely convincing, detailed sound and conjured up the big stage effortlessly in my 25m living room - even though the space section not optimal installation permits. Actually gave us the impression already and we were of the opinion that there can not much longer to go, and even not in this price range.
A few days later, this impression should also be more than besätigen. Rival candidates in Höhrsaal were Canton GLE's and Chronos, diverse Hekos, Elacs, Nuberts from a price range between 350-1000 Euro / piece.
Here are a few brief impressions:
-That The Chronos as often described offer very nice and differentiated heights, I can confirm - but even a minimum tick better than the Yamaha, and it makes the NS777 I think anything much better - but the focus on Höchtöne sure really great - if you can do without some foundation
-The Heco Celan for more than twice the price showed felt no treble - in comparison with the Canton or Yamaha it seemed to me, as this would "be deceptive" only briefly and then fade. In this speaker I would therefore have to give up a part of the music - although admittedly the midrange was delivered well balanced and voluminous - for a less versatile musical taste certainly a nice box
This went on for some time even more ...
..irgendwann the Lord adviser has noticed that I had to suspend what with all alternatives and no could reach (by far!) to the overall performance of the Yamaha.
His last chance seemed to consist to put a few price points higher)
So he threw me to the conclusion in his despair the sound of two fired by a noble Mantraz stereo AVR Elacs FS 249 against - just as if the last word had not yet spoken ;-)
And lo and behold -. If you are prepared per unit the spend 6 times (1800 Euros) plus pro-AVR can be a confident NS 777 owners still impressive in his place - at least in the really outstanding abundance, vitality, presence and emotion the Elacs angehet - that really play in a completely different world. In terms of sophistication and attention to detail but I also see the Yamaha in the same league with the ELAC.
I could still go on writing the last detail and more - but it's just my own impression and the pre-listening of Vergleichsprobanten took place in a Höhrsaal while the Yamaha sound for my living room. Here really play a wide variety of factors play a role and make a purchase decision is a sujektiver impression geared towards the preferences for music enjoyment simply unavoidable. I would just like to point it, not forget in this Budjet to test the Yamaha - it might be worth :)
However, I was fortunate to have met at the beginning the right choice for me - so strong buy recommendation from my side.
Servus;)
