Also on their fifth album Deb Talan and Steve Tannen let us re-immerse in the perfect harmony of their musical world. Again, the Weepies are on the bridge between folk song and Pop go and again amazed the listeners that even in this sequel to the quality of previous albums was maintained and perhaps even exceeded - which is rather an exception than a rule in popular music. Possibly Sirens is sometimes a little more thoughtful, because the album, as the booklet reveals while Debs successful battle against cancer has arisen in 2014. Interpreting text passages on the fight: "I hear Their voices / Sirens calling out emergency ..." or the recording of Tom Petty's "learing to fly" with the hard knock in reality when landing from the elation of success? Steve Tannen anyway noted laconically to "I do not need no trouble [but] sometimes Trouble needs me" and assured Deb "I'll never let you down." But the battle is won: Deb has (although their newly grown hair chemotherapy still looks) again in the akkordalen skies swinging and lets the world including Tom Petty know: "I can carry the whole damn stack 'Cause I got a brand new pair of wings today ... "Whether we - just as fans - too much interpreting into the lyrics? Anyway, the sirens are a round piece of music and lights with five stars.
