The lamp is very bright. An approximately 250 meters distant house wall can I illuminate brightly. Brightness was the main factor in my purchase. Previously I had a Maglite with 3 mono batteries and conventional light bulb, which reached only a fraction of the brightness. Very good is also the option to either narrow or focus the light beam to scatter widely. So that the lamp can be used for many purposes. The processing of the LED Lenser P17 is very high, as in the Maglite. However, I have a point of criticism: The Maglite could touch the light head and cut with the end of a nail in the wall or a herring in the ground. With the P17 I was more cautious. The lamp head has a little game, so it probably does not survive without prejudice to such charges because of the focus mechanism. Two minor criticisms I have. The lamp is round and therefore tumbles around. Some lamps have shaped elements which prevent that, which is missing here, unfortunately. But more important: The power button a little annoying. It is too easy, which is why the bulb unintentionally flares at unvorsichtigemn gripping. In addition, the button also has the function, by switching the modes of operation. Indeed, there are three different light intensities. = Press and hold "turbo bright" Press once = normal Press = faint light Twice This causes the lamp you can not just turn on and because this all modes of operation are carried out. If you for example in the normal level, and will make the lamp, clicking once. The lamp is only turbo light (due to pressing and holding), then it goes out briefly and then switches to the faint mode. If pressed again, the lamp is short turbo light again and then go off only. Here is a slide switch would have made more sense.
