My appeal to Philips and the rest of the industry: please not generate devices that are prematurely garbage. As a machine, I would not like to refer to the device anyway. A machine needs to be robust.
My conclusion: I climb to the priced lower Handbrühverfahren. It is cheaper and takes no longer. In addition, but the coffee tastes a little better and you do not depend of ailing electronics.
