I use this adapter with a Linux 2.6.x PATA controller HighPoint HPT366 UDMA / 66 to connect a SATA II disk. I have no problem with the adapter that plays its role perfectly transparent to the system. The adaptateyur has two SATA connector but only one is usable. Therefore not possible to use a socket for a master drive and the other for a slave drive. In fact one is intended for conversion SATA-> PATA and the other is intended for adaptation PATA-> SATA. The card is equipped with a powerful blue / red to indicate power and access. It illuminates completely inside the PC giving the impression of having installed a blue tuning kit. The card comes with a SATA cable and a Molex power adapter. I personally use one of the power cables for my internal power supply floppy drive. The included SATA cable is completely wound on itself to make it fit in the small box in which the adapter is supplied. This damages the cord and I was forced to use another cable than the one provided otherwise I incessant transfer errors. With a good cable SATA is only happiness.
