Only the picture quality:
Underwater shooting this cam is its round lens unfortunately totally unsuitable. The photographs are blurred, unclear and have a blue tinge. This problem can be fix according to experience very good with a flat lens. The color also will not change, but a housing flat lens provide sharp images. Divers need to define a housing anyway if they want down deeper than 3m.
Who wants to use the Cam on or in the water gets in good light and quiet camera beautiful strong and sharp images. In bumpy forest reached the image quality, however, was disappointing by shaking are details on muddy surfaces blurry and watching the recordings makes through the cluttered appearance little joy. The play of light and shadow, the Cam reasonably Tucked away, although there are reflections on the lens but the light / dark adaptation works well.
The shooting in sufficient light are quite nice if the camera but has little light or artificial light, the images very noisy and bluish.
Conclusion:
For shooting underwater the Cam desperately needs a housing with a flat lens. In general, the image quality is only in good light and quiet camera work without stress or vibrations well.
The service is reasonably clear but somewhat cumbersome.
As it soon became clear to me that it is not the camera I have not tried the app.
As I can Actioncam the Drift HD Ghost therefore recommended hardly.
PS: I tested the Rollei Action Cam 5s diving, the Fantec BeastVision, the GoPro HD Hero3 Black, the JVC GC-Addixxion XA2, the Contour + 2, the Sony HDR-AS15 and Actionpro X7. I could not decide the cameras, the Fantec however BeastVision by extensive accessories and acceptable video quality my personal price / value for money. Sony has the best image stabilization.
I'm still waiting for the end of September 30 and the Rollei S-50 which appear in mid-October on the Sony HDR-AS.
