Camera unusable because battery Non-Rechargeable

Firmware at the factory was 1.0 and had refused a bug of the battery charging. After laborious * Firmware Update 1.1 on charging did not unfortunately. This also means that direct access from the PC to the camera is not possible.

* Declaration on circumstantial update: a new charger for external recharging of Amazon purchases; Battery charged, loaded firmware on PC or memory card; the firmware update performed with charged battery in the camera.

That is, in my case:
- Only with an external (additional) power charger the battery can be charged, as long as the hinge / battery cover on the constant and close join in I do not know;
- USB connection to PC does not => memory card only externally read out (with a card reader)

My choice fell on the Coolpix S3300, among other things also because I have a Nikon SLR years possess and have had very good experiences with the brand. This time it was a handle in the toilet, unfortunately.
