I was not enttäucht, the book comprises numerous recipes for Japanese bentos and Bentos that are not quite as Japanese. The Authorin has especially taken that most recipes can be made with ingredients that are found go to any reasonably well-stocked Asia.
The cost is deliberately kept realistic, so that working people make it over a period of 15-30 minutes to put together a Bento. The Bentorezepte all contain a timetable as to when what ingredients are prepared, so that the cooking time can be kept short.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in Bentos, but to those who want to expand their diet to some quick Japanese recipes.
The book is written in English, with good basic knowledge and possibly a dictionary but everyone comes clear with the recipes.
